Myakka River Trails
The Myakka River flows through much of Sarasota and Charlotte Counties and is one of only two rivers in the state of Florida to be recognized as a “Wild and Scenic River.”
To protect this river, development is discouraged. In fact, Sarasota County actively tries to buy parcels along the river to preserve its natural state.
Myakka River Trails is a small development along the river with homesites from 5 to 15 acres. This secluded, gated community is on River Road between I-75 and US 41 and only a short distance from I-75 but seemingly worlds away from civilization. This is Sarasota County’s only riverfront estate community on the Myakka River.
Private horse and nature trails wind through the complex, so bring your horse and enjoy the natural beauty.
Homes are generally custom designed by one of the select
builders and many have river access. Those without river frontage are on natural preserves. Within the compound are a community pool, clubhouse, lighted tennis courts and playground.
