Oyster Bay
Located just south the actual Sarasota City Limits, Oyster Bay is one of Sarasota’s most distinguished small enclaves. Many of the generous homesites are located right along Roberts Bay with a view of Siesta Key across the water. Homes are not crammed together as they are in the brand new developments. You also have the extra advantage of deep sailboat water right at your doorstep.
In addition to bayside, you have a choice of lakefront or interior locations. Since the subdivision has been around for a long time, you’ll find everything from large estate homes to smaller old Florida ranch styles, and many of the older homes have been completely renovated for a new updated look. Only 168 homes are included in this exclusive neighborhood, and homes here tend to average anywhere from 2,000-6,000 square feet. Prices range from $500,000 to over $5 million for waterfront properties.
As with most of the established communities, Oyster Bay has the advantage of mature oak trees and lush landscaping that only time can provide. Adjoining the property is the highly esteemed Field
Club which provides its 600 members with tennis, yachting and social events on its 11-acre property. Oyster Bay residents may choose to join this private club or participate in countless other activities that the urban setting provides.
Siesta Key Beach with its world famous sand is right across the bridge. St. Armands Circle, a chic shopping district is just a few minutes away. Saks Fifth Avenue and other fine stores are almost across the street, and there are endless dining adventures nearby. Special events like parades, art shows, and festivals are held in downtown Sarasota every weekend.
Whether you want a spectacular waterfront mansion or an artfully restored older home, Oyster Bay is an area that exudes charm.
