If you want to be on the beach, then try the barrier islands like Longboat Key, Lido Key, Siesta Key, Casey Key, Manasota Key, Don Pedro Island, Little Gasparilla Island or Boca Grande. Venice also has some beachfront property.

Charlotte Harbor is one of the top cruising spots in the nation, and the Intracoastal Waterway passes right through it.
