Venice Golf & Country Club
What sets Venice Golf and Country Club apart from other golf course communities is that it is a certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary. Residents take pride in the fact that they live in harmony with nature and enjoy seeing osprey, storks, cranes, Bald Eagles and an occasional bobcat or Florida panther. The motto here is “country club living redefined.” The club itself is member owned with equity golf memberships available from owners or the club and social memberships required.
Located on Center Road in Venice, you have double interstate access because you are between two exits. Here you’ll find 460 acres of Florida woodland an d greenways with many nature preserves. Within the community are 55 acres of sparkling lakes. Underground utilities provide safety and do not mar the natural setting.
Venice Golf and Country Club is comprised of six different areas with choices for single-family homes and maintenance-free villas. Though 10 to 15 years old, most of the homes have pools and lovely golf course views. Many of these homes were built by Arthur Rutenberg, often called the dean of Florida architecture for his innovative designs.
Amenities include a junior Olympic swimming pool, lighted Har-Tru tennis courts, fitness center and more. The clubhouse has recently been renovated and the championship golf course refurbished. Though it is a small club, Venice Golf and Country Club offers three different golf memberships plus tennis, fine dining, social events and other classes.
Residents can rest easy since the entrance is manned by a guard 24/7 and names must be supplied by the owner or Realtor to gain admittance.
